Comal Taco Co. Brings Southwest Flavors to Optimist Hall |
New taco spot set to open in early December, replacing Marina's Tapas |
Comal Taco Co. is set to spice up Optimist Hall with its Southwest-inspired menu, taking over the space previously occupied by Marina's Tapas.
Owner Shang Skipper shared, "Comal is all about tradition. We're paying homage to the great food of Mexico and the American Southwest."
Diners can look forward to a variety of tacos, salsas, queso, and Arizona's signature cheese crisp. All tortillas and chips will be sourced from locally owned De La Vega Tortillas. The menu will also feature red sangria, fresh-made guacamole, nachos, and churros served with a rich dulce de leche sauce.
Chef Andres Kaifer, owner of Customshop and the now-closed Marina's Tapas, is collaborating with Skipper by designing the menu and providing oversight and consultation to the upcoming dining spot.
"Andres and I have been friends for many years now, and just partnering with him has been a lot of fun," said Skipper.
As for Comal, keep an eye on your inbox—we'll let you know when an opening date is announced.
Fun fact: This will be the third stall to open since August, following ESO Artisanal Pasta and Poppycox. |
