Charlotte is getting its first La La Land Kind Café, bringing the social-media-friendly coffee and matcha brand to South End.

The Dallas-based company is preparing to open at 1930 Camden Road, the former Bitty & Beau’s Coffee space in the Design Center of the Carolinas.

An exact opening date has not been announced, but recent reporting points to a late 2026 or early 2027 debut.

What La La Land is known for

The café has built a large following around bright yellow branding, specialty lattes, matcha drinks and highly visual coffeehouse staples.

Its menu includes drinks such as the La La Latte alongside flavored coffee, matcha and toast options.

The bigger story is the mission

La La Land also ties its business model to employment and mentorship opportunities for young people transitioning out of foster care.

That mission makes the South End location notable for another reason: it is replacing Bitty & Beau’s, another mission-driven café known for employing people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Why South End makes sense

The Camden Road location puts La La Land in one of Charlotte’s busiest coffee, dining and retail districts, with heavy foot traffic from nearby apartments, offices, shops and the Rail Trail.

For Charlotte coffee drinkers, the opening will add another high-profile café to a neighborhood that already has a deep roster of local and national coffee concepts.
