Laurel Park Restaurant Set to Open in SouthPark This Fall |
New dining destination to occupy former Village Tavern space |
SouthPark is set to welcome a new culinary addition this fall with the opening of Laurel Park, a restaurant taking over the former Village Tavern location at 4201 Congress Street. This space, which served the community for 35 years before closing in October 2024, is being revitalized to offer a fresh dining experience.
Spearheading the project is managing member Dan McCormick, who has been actively involved in the renovation process. The restaurant's Instagram account has been sharing construction updates, building anticipation among locals.
The kitchen will be led by local chef Brett Faldstein, known for his creative flavor combinations. The menu will showcase New American cuisine with international influences, featuring dishes like duck barbacoa empanadas, house-made pastas, and a classic bistro filet.
Dessert enthusiasts can look forward to unique offerings such as ube cheesecake and a s'mores-inspired tart, blending familiar flavors with global twists.
Emphasizing local sourcing, Laurel Park plans to procure beef from Brasstown Beef and produce from regional farmers, supporting the community's agricultural sector.
The restaurant will feature a 5,500-square-foot indoor dining area and a spacious 2,000-square-foot patio, complete with an open-air bar and fireside seating, designed for social gatherings and casual meetups.
While an exact opening date has not been announced, Laurel Park aims to launch in October, bringing a fresh dining experience to the SouthPark community.
